41. HEART

We’ve been told that our dog looks like a fox… Sometimes, people identify him correctly as a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I’ve heard the word, “love,” and uttered it myself more since his arrival on Valentine’s Day, 2014. He’s a working dog with no one to look after. His only assignment is to meet and greet others in the neighborhood. Living up to his zodiac sign (Sagittarius), he’s helped me find answers in places I never would have looked. He has also reconnected me to my inner child. How I landed on page 83 of The Little Prince this morning.

“Goodbye,” said the fox. “This is my secret. It’s very simple. You only see clearly with your heart. The most important things are invisible to the eyes.”

“The most important things are invisible to the eyes,” repeated the little prince, so that he would be sure to remember. 

“It’s the time you spent on your rose that makes your rose so important.”

“It’s the time I spent on my rose…” said the little prince, so that he would be sure to remember.
